NUEVA VIZCAYA—The Bayombong local government in the province of Nueva Vizcaya has ordered the closure of the Bayombong Public Market after some vendors tested positive for COVID-19 .

The vendors underwent mass swab testing on Sept. 18.

Mayor Ralph Lantion disclosed that 18 vendors tested positive for the virus on Sept 22.

He immediately ordered that temporary closure of the market be extended for an additional five days or until September 27, 2020.

So far, a total of 29 vendors have tested positive for the virus.

Local authorities have ordered the strict implementation of health protocols like social distancing, the wearing of face masks and face shields, and frequent handwashing.
