Police Regional Office (PRO-6) identified the suspects as Hernani Dela Cruz Farillon, also known as Ka Raquel, and Ireneo Farillon Graciadas, alias “Ka Darwin”. The duo is facing three counts of murder charges since 2005.

The 54-year-old Farillon and 40-year-old Graciadas were caught in Jamindan town Tuesday, September 22, by joint elements of the Capiz Police Provincial Office (CPPO-Provincial Intelligence Branch) and the Jamindan Municipal Station led by Police Captain Cherryl Visto.

Police have been monitoring Farillon and Graciadas, who are identified members of NPA’s Central Front Committee in Panay Island.  They operate in the mountainous barangays (villages) of Jamindan, Mambusao and Tapaz towns.

While the hierarchy of PRO-6 lauded the arrest of the duo, other NPA rebels were also urged to voluntarily surrender and avail of the government’s Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP).

“We would appreciate it if you would surrender to us with your firearms instead of being arrested with your warrants or be killed in encounters with government troops” said PRO-6 Director Police Brig. Gen. Rene Pamuspusan.

“The people no longer tolerate presence of NPAs in their barangays,” Pamuspusan added.
