DAVAO CITY — The office of the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) in Davao Oriental recovered a dead spinner dolphin along the shores of Purok Bangunay, Barangay Bobon in Mati City on Sunday.

Citing initial investigation, the agency suspected that the 150-centimeter long dolphin could have been attacked by larger marine mammals since there were no net entanglements or human-inflicted injuries found on the sea creature.

It added that the weakened dolphin might have suffered more injuries when it crashed on large boulders along the shores, causing its death.

The cadaver of the dolphin was handed to “Amihan sa Dahican” for appropriate carcass disposal.
