The office of Mayor Cesar Ynares, through his Municipal Administrator Russel Ynares told Manila Bulletin that measures to protect the residents of the deadly virus will be implemented by the local government including isolation of patients.

The Department of Health (DOH) earlier said that a resident of Binangonan, a 47-year-old Returning Overseas Filipino (ROF) came from Lebanon on December 29, admitted to the New Clark City isolation facility after tested positive of coronavirus and was discharged last January 13 after completing her mandatory quarantine.

When asked to confirm the whereabouts of the UK variant carrier, or if her relatives and other close contacts have been tested for COVID-19, the administrator said that these matters are deemed confidential by the DOH.

The municipal government also did not confirm if an area in the town has been locked down or if it has implemented border restrictions in villages as a result of the DOH’s disclosure about the ROF from Binangonan. But in a post on its Facebook page, the local government is reminding the public to continue adhering to the health and safety protocols to keep them away from the virus.

As of January 25, there were 1,427 COVID-19 confirmed cases in the municipality, with 64 active cases and 1,300 recoveries.
