The local government of Caloocan City has tapped the Catholic church to help them for its upcoming vaccination drive against coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

Mayor Oca Malapitan on Friday met with the city’s barangay officials as well as Kalookan Archbishop Pablo Virgilio David, who expressed support to the local government’s vaccination program.

Both parties agreed that the church will provide the local government volunteers, particularly those who have experience in medicine, to form the city’s vaccination teams.

The church will also help in conducting information dissemination regarding the local government’s plan on the COVID-19 vaccine rollout.

All that we do is for the safety of Caloocan City residents. We will ensure that we will be ready once the vaccine arrives),” Malapitan said.
