A tricycle driver listed in the police drug watchlist was arrested during a buy-bust operation and yielded a total of 11.9 grams of shabu amounting to P809,820 on Friday morning.


Police identified the suspect as Nicanor Montalban, 46, a resident of 1303 F. Santos Avenue, Zapote, Las Pinas City. He is now detained at the Las Pinas City police custodial facility and was charged for illegal possession of drugs.

Montalban was arrested at about 4:30 a.m. along Tramo St., Barangay Zapote, Las Pinas City.

Investigation showed that members of the Station Drug Enforcement Unit conducted a buy-bust operation that led to the arrest of Montalban who is reportedly the source of shabu proliferating in Barangay Zapote.

 Police said Montalban has long been wanted by the police and was placed under the drug watchlist.

 An informant spotted Montalban at the tricycle terminal in Barangay Zapote. Montalban was arrested while waiting for passengers.
