San Juan City Mayor Francisco Zamora on Tuesday issued City Ordinance No.1 series of 2021 which will give P100,000 cash incentive to any barangay in the city that will register no new active COVID-19 cases for 100 straight days.

“Ito po ay additional na incentive po natin upang tumaas pa lalo ang ating porsyento ng nawawala nang COVID-19 or yung pagka clear natin or yung tinatawag natin na COVID-19 free barangays (This is an additional incentive to increase further the eradication of COVID-19 in our barangays),” Zamora said during his house-to-house information drive against COVID-19 and on-the-spot vaccination registration program in the city.

Zamora also said that because of the local government’s swift actions and the residents’ strict compliance with the safety protocols and guidelines against the virus, the city now only has 31 active COVID cases as of February 7.

“I believe (that) with all the interventions we’re doing: itong ating continuous targeted mass testing, yung ating continuous tracing, isolation and treatment, pati ho itong registration natin sa bakuna, and eventually ho, very soon magsisimula na din yung actual vaccination process (I believe with all the interventions we’re doing: our continuous targeted mass testing, isolation and treatment, also with our vaccine registration, and eventually, very soon, the start of the actual vaccination process) I believe that we are on the right track in making San Juan COVID-19 free,” Zamora added.
