DAVAO CITY – The municipal government of Compostela, Davao de Oro suspended classes as storm signal No. 1 was raised in the area as severe tropical storm “Auring” (international name “Dujuan”) approached.


Light to moderate with at times heavy rain showers are expected in the province.

In a public advisory Monday, the local government unit ordered all public and private schools on all levels
to suspend module and other school activities.

“Magpabilin kining maong direktiba hantud ideklara kita sa DOST-PAGASA nga layo na sa possibleng epekto ni Bagyong ‘Auring’ (This directive shall be effective until the DOST-PAGASA declares that we are already safe from TS Auring),” it added.

The local government unit also reminded the public to prepare for the storm.
