In October 2020, only Kindergarten and Grade 1 learners received tablets from the local government to aid them in blended learning. Olivarez reminded that for each household, one tablet will be given.

“Kung meron po tayong tatlo, dalawang estudyante sa isang pamilya, isa po magshashare po sila doon (If there are three or two pupils in one family, they will share with the tablet,” Olivarez said.

He added that the move was done so that more students will benefit from this initiative of the local government. He also mentioned that all teachers who did not get laptops will individually receive one soon to help them under the new normal.

In October 2020, the local government distributed 1,500 laptops to teachers and 16,000 tablets to Kindergarten and Grade I students in public schools. The city government made use of its Special Education Fund (SEF) to buy the gadgets.
