The “macho” mascot of the Eastern Police District (EPD) and policemen went around Pasig City earlier today, February 14, Valentine’s Day, to spread love by giving flowers, balloons, chocolates, face masks, face shields, and flyers to civilians.

“Patrolman PaMaMariSan (Pasig, Mandaluyong, Marikina, San Juan)” and policemen started the distribution of their Valentine’s gifts to civilians in front of Immaculate Concepcion Cathedral.

Civilians also took “selfies” with the policemen and the “macho” EPD mascot after receiving their gifts.

The gift-giving on Valentine’s Day was ordered by EPD director Brig. Gen. Matthew Baccay.

According to him, this was done to remind the public to love and help one another, especially now that there is a pandemic.

The flyers handed out by the police were containing information about the minimum health protocols the public needs to observe to defeat COVID-19.

“It is important to educate the public on the health protocols that they need to observe in order for then not to get infected,” he said.

“We also provided them with face masks and face shields.”
