A man was arrested for unauthorized use of the Philippine National Police logo in San Juan City, Friday night.

The suspect, identified as Francis Enrico Banaag Salazar, 28, was apprehended at an Oplan Sita checkpoint in front of San Juan Cemetery.

Police officers said Salazar was flagged at the checkpoint because he was wearing a half-face helmet with a PNP insignia.

After questioning Salazar, authorities found out that he is not a real member of the PNP.

The police also found an airsoft gun and a tactical knife in Salazar’s motorcycle compartment which resulted in his arrest.

Banaag is facing charges for violation of Republic Act 10591 (gun replica), Republic Act 179, the Illegal Use of Uniforms and Insignia, and Batas Pambansa Bilang 6, Illegal Possession of Deadly Weapon.
