BACOOR CITY, Cavite – A Public Utility Vehicle (PUV) Modernization Project was launched by the local government unit (LGU) here, in coordination with the Magnificat Transport Cooperative on Monday (Feb. 15).

Mayor Lani Mercado Revilla and Regional Director Renwick K. Rutaquio of the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) Region IV led the inauguration of the 15 units of modernized PUVs.

According to Revilla, the PUVs are equipped with technological features, including Global Positioning System (GPS), CCTV cameras, an automatic fare collection system, and free wireless internet connection.

Under the new system, drivers will receive a fixed salary and will not have to pay a “boundary.”

The modernized PUVs will start operating along Molino Road and Bacoor Boulevard going to Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITX) and back soon.
