Navotas City Mayor Toby Tiangco prefers to have one contact tracing application to be used in the country.

“Tumpak (Correct)! There should have been one app for the whole country,” Tiangco said on Twitter, in response to a user who complained about getting “dizzy” due to numerous contact tracing applications in her mobile phone.

In early February, it was also Tiangco who called on the national government to come up with a uniform vaccine passport.
He said this is because local government personnel might have difficulty in determining which vaccine passport is fake or not.

“For the record, I have already requested that only one vaccine passport be issued nationwide,” he added.

“There are more than 1,500 LGUs (local government units) [and] it cannot be per LGU,” Tiangco said. “Hindi na natin alam kung alin ang peke (We will no longer know which one is fake).
