The Pasay City Crematorium cremated a total of 514 cadavers from January to March this year.

Leonora Leonen, Pasay City Crematorium administrator, said that they cremated a total of 46 cadavers in January, 63 in February, and 405 in March.

Leonen said that prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, only 28 up to 40 were being cremated in the facility.

“Hindi na po napapahinga ang ating crematory machine at ang isa po dito ay may 15 years ng nag-o-oprate, kaya nagsabi na kami sa local government na kinakailangan na itong palitan,” (Our crematory machine is continuing to operate and one of our machine is already 15 years old, the reason why we already asked the city government to give us a new machine,” Leonen said.

The crematorium administrator added that the 15-year-old crematory machine will be dismantled once the new one arrives on April 19.

She also said they are not only serving Pasay residents but also those coming from the cities of Las Pinas, Paranaque and Makati.
