The Provincial Government of Bulacan is alarmed over the rising number of COVID-19 cases in the province despite its ramping up of the vaccination program.

The Bulacan Provincial Health Office (PHO) has recorded 290 COVID-19 cases, 170 of which are fresh cases.

The PHO said that from the 42,235 total confirmed cases on July 21, the number has risen to 43,377 on July 28. But recovery from COVID-19 maintains its good number at 41,114 while the total number of deaths was 926.

The five highest COVID-19 cases were recorded in the cities of San Jose Del Monte, Malolos, Sta Maria, Meycauayan, and Marilao.

Governor Daniel R. Fernando and Vice Governor Wilhelmino M. Sy-Alvarado are appealing to Bulakenyos to strictly follow the minimum public health standards when going out of their homes.

Fernando said the proper wearing of face masks and face shields can help prevent the spread of COVID-19. He also urged Bulakenyos to observe social distancing and to avoid mass gatherings.

Alvarado advised those who don’t have any symptoms but were in close contact with suspected COVID-19 cases to immediately contact the nearest local public health authority.
